Healing

Hope Was Not Disappointed

Faith

Anticipation filled the atmosphere like a gasp suspended in air. For the hundreds who were present—some even putting their lives at risk to attend—their time had come. It was their turn to receive, and the altar was flooded with expectant believers tenacious about their miracles. Just like blind Bartimaeus, their hopes were not disappointed (Mark 10:46-52 and Rom. 5:5).

The when and where of healing’s beginning was explained along with other concepts taken from Andrew’s Spirit, Soul & Body teaching. Many had to address painful emotional issues and were, in turn, set free by the unconditional love and grace of God. People were able to break away from religious traditions and literally walk, jump, and run by the substance of what they hoped for.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

Carlie Terradez and Daniel Amstutz, who hosted the event, taught healing ministry training during the morning sessions. In the evenings, words of knowledge flowed, further sparking faith for healing. Andrew and fellow Charis Bible College instructors Barry Bennett, Greg Mohr, and Duane Sheriff all poured out a wealth of personal revelation, sharing from Scripture and their own life experiences of the Word working for them. In one afternoon session, a panel of the speakers answered questions people had written down on three-by-five cards. It was both an enlightening and humorous time!

The four-day conference indeed lived up to its name, as “the power of the Lord was present to heal” (Luke 5:17). Various cancers and tumors, the effects of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s, partial and total blindness, and immune and nervous system disorders were corrected. One person who attended had this to say:

When I walked into the sanctuary on the first day, I felt like I had stepped into heaven! I was overwhelmed by how strong God’s presence was in the room—so much so, it didn’t really surprise me to see people getting up out of wheelchairs later on in the week. God is so good!

Other conditions such as diabetes, cerebral palsy, glaucoma, blood conditions, frozen joints, skeletal complications, heart problems, and even baldness had to submit to the power of God at work. Oxygen tanks, canes, and wheelchairs were no longer needed either, and God wasn’t done yet. Many long-distance healing testimonies came in as Charis locations live-streamed the event. God’s power transcended time and distance.
