Healing

Finding the Answer

ChrisJan 09 2023

I grew up in a religious home, and sickness was just punishment for doing something wrong. I remember telling my dad about my back problems, and his response was, ‘What did you do to cause it?

Cassaundra Siegersma had been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, sleep apnea, asthma, and fibromyalgia and had two herniated disks resulting in two back surgeries. She would sleep all day and stay up all night while her husband worked three jobs to pay the bills. Still, they were on the brink of bankruptcy.

Searching for a change, Cassaundra decided to tag along with one of her relatives to AWM’s annual Summer Family Bible Conference in Colorado. “I remember sitting under Andrew’s teaching,” recalls Cassaundra, “and he started quoting verses from the Bible concerning healing. Anytime I would have the thought of his teaching being false, I would be reminded of Romans 3:4, ‘Let God be true, but every man a liar.’ I realised that Andrew was quoting the Word. And God is true; therefore, His word is true.”

After receiving prayer for her healing at the conference, Cassaundra went back to her hotel room and threw her medication away, deciding that she was going to take a stand on her healing. Two weeks later, she received a touch from God that she would never forget.

One morning as I was trying to sleep, I felt someone touch my toe. I thought my husband wanted me to take him to work. So, I opened my eyes, but no one was there. Within five minutes, I was asleep and slept better than I had in years. I can honestly say that I have been healed of everything. Not only did God heal me physically, but He was also able to heal my broken heart. God healed all of the hurt, anger, and condemnation in my life and replaced it with His peace.

Cassaundra’s family is closer, stronger, and more loving than ever before. She has experienced her Healer and, as a result, will never be the same. “Healing is like any gift,” remarks Cassaundra. “If God paid for it in order to give it to you, then He wants you to have it!

I think one of the greatest realisations I have come to understand is that healing is about the solution, not the problem. The cross is the answer, and it does not matter what problem you are facing. God can change your mind, your circumstances, and even that giant in your life. What Christ did on the cross is so much bigger than any sin or circumstance in your life. Let God be your refuge, your fortress, your deliverer, and a very present help in time of need. He will meet you wherever you are with outstretched hands and a loving heart. Go hear the Word, hear the truth, and expect to see a good God show up in powerful ways in your life!
